how we work
1. new project meeting
This is a complimentary meeting meant to be a design kick-off for clients wanting full-service interior design! We don’t give any specific design advice during this meeting, but we will discuss your project in detail including your timeline, design style, and overall budget.

2. site measure and assessment
After the contract is signed, and a retainer is received one of our designers will come to your project location. We will gather more information about your space by taking measurements and photos.
3. space planning
Carefully considered space planning is crucial to a well-designed space. We create floor plans after taking measurements and photos. This helps us to create a list of areas to design and address.
4. design concept
This is the fun part! Using the space planning phase we carefully select all of the finishes for your project including: fabrics, flooring, lighting, rugs, draperies, cabinets…all the pretty things. We love working directly with our clients to make sure the space is uniquely designed for them!
5. concept presentation and approval
We meet and discuss our product selections. This is a very collaborative meeting with the designer and the client. We will also schedule any additional meetings that are needed.
6. scheduling and procurement
Next, we schedule any trades people, and order products and selections that have been made.
7. installation and accessorizing
We absolutely love installation because this is where the vision becomes reality! An “Install Day” is scheduled for ELDS to deliver and set-up any furniture and accessories that have been purchased.
8. refinement punch list
This addresses anything that did not get completed as scheduled, or anything else that may need attention.

During the New Project Meeting we will talk about your overall budget. We make sure to ask how you want pieces or selections to perform, function, look, and what you think is a valid price point, so that we can maximize your budget. After we have completely picked your brain we can quickly choose products that fit your needs because of our extensive brand and product knowledge.
We create renderings
We find that our clients are impressed with the renderings we create, and their likeness to the finished product. Renderings bridge the communication gap between what the designer is visualizing in her head and explaining that visualization to the client.
We understand the psychology of color
We have the knowledge to select colors that maximize how the client wants to feel in a space.
Example: the color red encourages appetite. Many fast food restaurants include this color in their logo.
We help with interior architecture
Hire us before you meet with a builder, so that we can help design your floor plan layout! If you are interested in remodeling, we can help you maximize your current space.
We know our resources
We can point you in the direction of some of the newest, functional, and fabulous building materials. Examples are helping you choose the right shower system that is 100% leak-proof, a vibracoustic tub that plays music vibrations through the water, or even planning for a state-of-the-art home automation system.
We have an extensive knowledge of the History of the Decorative Arts
What does this mean? We have an amazing understanding of historical design, and historical furniture design. Whether you want to incorporate a fabulous French antique, a replica, or you want to completely emulate a certain style or period …we’ve got you covered!
